Case Study: ACOA
Project: Appointment Setting with potential Investors at All Energy

For ACOA we were tasked at short notice to set up appointments with prospective investors participating at ‘All Energy 2009’ Aberdeen. We shortlisted 50 plus prospective exhibitors who satisfied the search parameters and we then qualified these targets to get a list of those who were interested to meet the visiting ACOA executives to learn more about their region as an investment location. We arranged and facilitated qualified meetings and accompanied the client throughout the event in order to ensure they got value for money from attending.

The key outcome was that, despite being commissioned only one month before the event, we werw able to secure meetings with over 10 prospective interested parties.

Client: North West Development Agency (NWDA)
Project: Identifying and Developing International Connections Between England’s Northwest and Selected High Growth Markets, 2008

The North West Development Agency were looking to get a deeper understanding of the levels of connectivity between the UK’s Northwest region and the target markets of the BRICs and the Gulf. This involved assessing how the Northwest was performing in these markets, and what the issues and challenges were across trade, FDI, education / research, tourism and diaspora. The aim of the research was to identify connections with the target markets with the potential to have a significant economic impact for the region and to highlight potential opportunities from BRICs and Gulf.

Using a team of market and sector specialists, Kinetic Cubed carried out secondary and primary research across 5 high growth market areas - Brazil, Russia, India, China and the Gulf - in target sectors such as business and professional services, digital and creative, energy and environment and advanced engineering and materials.

The outcome was the development of key recommendations to help NWDA build capacity and capability with the target markets, and a fully costed action plan to enable the NWDA and regional partners to better prioritise their collective trade and investment resource allocation in these markets.
